Where Can I Serve?

Jesus told us, His disciples, to make disciples of all nations. One of the most important values of this church is our mission to the world. It begins in our own community, and spreads overseas to every nation. Church members are involved in a variety of ministries from things as simple as greeting visitors to leading Sunday School classes.

Mission Outreach

Friendship Baptist is thrilled to be part of the spread of God’s kingdom around the world. We are active in sending missionaries and supporting these missionaries with our money and with our prayers. We support missionaries both foreign and domestic.  Globally, we sponsor missionaries spreading the Gospel around the world.  Locally, we are actively involved in outreach activities including quarterly food trucks.  We encourage all of our people to respond to God’s call for laborers, whether it means that they move to a foreign country or live and minister in our own community.

Music & Worship

God-honoring worship is something we strive for. Many church members get involved in our music ministry. Some play their instruments. Some are vocalists. These volunteers are an important part of the ministry of our church, using their talents and gifts to glorify God.

Children

Children are a heritage from the Lord, offspring a reward from him (Psalms 127:3).  Our children ministry consists of volunteer opportunities in the nursery, preschool, and elementary aged children.  Our members lead, co-lead, and assist with caring for and teaching the children. Each teacher is carefully screened and trained.

Youth

Each Sunday morning and Wednesday night, youth get to participate in their own classes. Bible lessons are taught in such a way that every student gets to participate and learn. Each of the class teachers is carefully screened and thoroughly trained in youth instruction. The youth ministry of our church is recognized for their meaningful interaction with students. Middle and high school youth meet in building B and the portable of the church.

Homebound & Bereavement

Homebound Ministry serves those members of our church body who, due to physical limitations, are unable to attend church services regularly.  Some are unable to leave home at all. Volunteers send notes, making telephone calls, and stop by for a visit.  The death of a family member or friend confronts us with one of life’s most difficult and painful challenges.  The Bereavement team comfort and support to the grieving.  This is done through prayer, providing meals, and assisting the family.

Stewardship

At Friendship, we are thankful for how God has blessed our church financially.  Our Stewardship committee develops, implements, monitors, and adjust our faith-based budget each to ensure we managing the Church’s finances in accordance with God’s plan.

Building & Grounds

We each have gifts and talents, and the members of the Building & Grounds committee utilize their talents to address the needs of our facilities.  Some are trained in construction, electrical, plumbing, painting, landscape, and other skilled trades.  Others offer assistance to those with more skills.

Media & Technology

Using media to spread the gospel is a privilege of this church. In an age of widespread technology, we have a stewardship to use these tools as best as possible for kingdom purposes. All of our weekly sermons are uploaded to our website in audio format. We also maintain an active Facebook page and website.  We are always looking for volunteers who wish to assist with the audio/visual needs of the church.

Men’s

Our Men’s ministry is an outreach ministry for other ministries within the church.  The men have developed their own Wednesday Night Dinner team, cook on special occasions, serve on the Safety committee, and assist with youth outreach events.

Women’s

The Women’s ministry develops each woman by faith and through the teaching of God’s Word.  This is done through a variety of Bible studies, outreach events, conferences, and fellowship opportunities.

Family Promise Hosting

Family Promise of Santa Rosa County is a local, faith-based, non-profit organization whose mission is to address homeless in our community.  For one week, each quarter, we cook, fellowship, and pray for the families.  This is an excellent opportunity to share the Gospel with families in a less intimidating manner.

Greeting

Our Greeters are obtain the first people visitors to our church encounter.  In addition to providing a copy of the weekly bulletin, our greets attempt to get to know visitors and assist them with feeling comfortable at Friendship.  Our Greeters also provide each visitor with a small gift on behalf of the Church.

Hospitality

At Friendship, we enjoy fellowshiping together.  Our hospitality team prepares and serve meals during a variety of church events to include Dinner on the Grounds and Thanksgiving.  Members of this committee are committed to selfless service.

Wednesday Night Dinner Teams

Since our church began, we have always believed in opening our doors to all who wish to enter.  Each Wednesday night at 5:30 pm, a rotating team provides a free meal to members, visitors, guest, and those in need.  The meals are always free, delicious, and served with a small dessert.

Safety

The Safety committee consist of church members who volunteer to security to the Church, its members, and visitors during organized effects.  The committee works with other ministries to ensure everyone remains safe while engaging in worship and other activities at the Church.

Prayer Warriors

Prayer cannot be overestimated. Prayer moves the hand of God. Our Church is a body of believers dependent upon prayer, and committed to God’s sovereignty. Each Sunday, during the morning service, a team of volunteers is praying for the ministry of the Word. Throughout the week, volunteers from our Prayer Warriors team pray for their pastor, a list of church members, any special requests, and missionary prayer needs.

Some of our ministries, specifically those which involve working with the children/youth and the elderly, require volunteers to undergo a background screening.  Please click the background screening button below to complete the free background screening.
